Sing with
freedom!

My role as a voice teacher is to support and encourage you to trust your voice more and more each moment.

Classical singing and contemporary singing are different artforms.

Unless you want to be an opera singer, I would not recommend that you study with just any kind of voice teacher. I learned this the hard way when I was in college. My voice training then was quite frustrating because I wanted to sound like ME while my voice professor was teaching me to stand, breathe and sound like an opera singer.

I work with singers who want to sound like who they really are inside.

In opera, the goal is to create a sound that projects through the orchestra without a microphone. That’s why opera singers tend to sound so alike, they’re going after a very specific sound. Contemporary singers tend to sound very unique from one another because we have the great luxury of a microphone. This allows us to be our natural and intimate selves and sing however we intend to. This is what lessons are for – to get better at singing how YOU enjoy singing, not to follow a recipe from a heavily biased voice teacher.

It’s nice when others believe in you, but it’s much better when you believe in yourself.

I am a very strong proponent of a simple and reflexive approach to singing. I don’t have complicated, flashy or intimidating instructions. I am ALL about results. I train my students in a way that gets them to find their true voice, expands range, builds strength, prevents damage, significantly increases vocal options and ultimately develops an unshakable deep trust in their vocal abilities and skills. My clients report that they experience a great boost in confidence and ease in themselves and their voices.

I gradually and steadily challenge the voice of my client so that it continues to grow and improve.

I work with singers of all levels who are over the age of 14.

I do not require a commitment, although I recommend it for singers who are serious about their craft. You can take a single lesson or as many as you’d like (based on my availability).

I specialize in contemporary genres like pop, rock, musical theater (contemporary and legit), country, jazz, R&B, soul, folk, singer-songwriter, indie, tropical (merengue, bachata, salsa), EDM, blues, gospel and hip-hop.

For committed singers, I recommend at least one lesson a week. I offer 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons to accommodate different budgets and schedules.

I teach in person in New York City and worldwide via Zoom.

I’d be glad to answer any questions.

You can’t ask for someone better!!! Words could not express how much this man has helped me! Now I’ve been singing all my life, and i never really knew I have been singing incorrectly this whole time, like I’ve been pushing too hard to reach certain notes and that put a lot of strain on my voice. Also I’ve discovered that I have a clarity issue. Apparently I am a very tense person, always stressing, always doing more than I can handle and I have not been taking care of myself or voice for that matter. I’ve learned that there are different ways, not styles, of singing. Like I have problems switching from higher notes to lower notes by not letting go. It’s hard to explain. But I feel it. Then I end up falling off key. But yea… now since I’ve been seeing him, listening to my recordings in the studio, I hear that you can hear me clearer. My tone is purer, as if I sing with ease. And you can hear everything I say… ooo progress!!! And like I’m trying to figure out how to breathe while I’m singing without making a sound. See me, i never had a lesson. I mean I’ve sang in a church choir and stuff but I think I learned how to sing by just mocking other singers. And I’ve never was able to find my own voice. Like when I sang people’s songs I would sing it like how they did. Until I started writing my own music, I started to find myself. But yea back to this guy… This guy knows what he’s doing. I trust him cuz he has shown me that with these vocal exercises, he has helped me find myself, find my voice, did I mention that it’s very therapeutic. Yea he be my therapist sometimes. Lol. But he is very warming. Very professional. Only you can change you but he can give you some tips and tricks on how to make you a master of your voice! I’m trying to be an artist. And when he asked me how I found him I gave him this bullsh*t that I saw his reviews. I lied. He just was the first to answer my call and when I met him the first day I knew he was it. So don’t waste another minute reading another review. Just book one session and see for yourself. Best of luck! Btw… u r on the right track cuz u hear reading this, looking for answers. You may be great already but why not find if there are any weaknesses, or u just curious to make you better or learn something new just to do it. Like how exercise makes your body better, vocal exercising makes your singing better. I’m still learning, but still after every session I learn something new, I am shocked by what I can do, I’m at ease, guyssss seriously it’s therapy. Gabriel, you got my vote!!!

Gabriel is a genuine, dedicated and enthusiastic teacher. I am so happy I found him and would recommend him to anybody interested in strengthening both their ability and confidence in their voice. You get out what you put in with Gabriel. He’s honest without being abrasive and guides without being judgmental. I look forward to our weekly lessons and am going to continue seeing him. I have been seeing Gabriel for 1 month and will report back after 3 and so on and so forth. Thanks Gabriel!

Gabriel is by far my favorite vocal teacher! He is so fun and creative, yet he is strict as well. He makes learning so fun and I feel like I’ve learned a great deal from everything he has taught me! I have progressed as a singer, but he has helped me grow out of my shell and be more confident and less anxious. He truly is an amazing teacher and an amazing human being! My experience with him has been incredible and I’ve learned so much.

For this being my first vocal lesson ever I have to say I had an amazing experience with Gabriel! You can tell he’s been doing this for a long time. He immediately recognized and instructed me on what I can do better to produce sound without any strain and in tune. Will definitely be seeing him again!

My experience with Gabriel has been completely eye opening to the possibilities of singing. Not only does he create exercises that effectively help me reach parts of my voice that I was previously unaware of. He also helps me to understand WHY the exercise is working, WHAT my body is doing, and HOW to incorporate it into the ever expanding batman-style-utility-belt that is my voice.

I’ve tried countless amounts of online exercises which took 3x the effort and strain for poor result. Gabriel’s lessons go over many unique exercises that are geared for your specific vocal. Throughout 2 months, I’ve learned many new training techniques for my voice, while learning how the vocals operate, allowing myself to become self aware of what’s going on throughout each exercise. Gabriel gives his 110% in every lesson, is informative and very easy to talk to.

Gabriel gets to work the moment he arrives. He is always on time. He works well with Sabrina and she has fun. He always has a lesson to give her so she can practice for the week. She has taken lessons before but has never been this enthusiastic. Sabrina looks forward for his emails and her next lesson. I would recommend Gabriel to anyone who is interested in singing lessons.
